June 3rd of 2018 we had the fortunate turn of events that led us to get to take Hoku home from Pet City. Just 72 hours earlier a family had purchased her and in less than a 24-hour time span, she was found abandoned. Karen had connections with the Larimer County Humane Society and was contacted when Hoku was brought in as an abandoned puppy. A friend of mine put us in touch with Karen and Pet City. Karen and Erin worked with the Humane Society to be sure they were contacted as soon as the puppy was able to be adopted. It was very important that the puppy not get back in the hands of the people who abandoned her. Karen and Erin rescued Hoku as fast as the humane society would release her. And they allowed us to take her home. She has a clean bill of health to this day and is one of the most affectionate and happy dogs in the neighborhood. She completes our family and we would not be the same without her. Below are pictures from day 1 and just the other day, over a year later with our whole lives ahead. Thank you, Karen and Pet City.
